What to Expect From Your Maternity Session
You don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose or feeling completely comfortable in front of the camera. I’ll guide you through the entire experience.
Before Your Session
Once your session is booked, we’ll plan the details together. I’ll help you choose an outdoor location that fits the look you love and provide guidance on wardrobe, colors, and styling.
If your partner or children will be participating, I can also help you coordinate everyone’s clothing so your photographs feel cohesive without looking overly matched.
During Your Session
I’ll guide you through flattering poses, natural movement, and easy prompts designed to highlight your growing belly while keeping your photographs relaxed and genuine.
We’ll create traditional portraits looking at the camera along with softer, more candid images focused on connection, anticipation, and your growing family.
After Your Session
Your photographs will be professionally edited in Bluefire Photography’s bright, natural, and timeless style and delivered through a private online gallery.
Depending on your selected collection, you’ll either receive your complete gallery or choose your included favorites.
When Should I Schedule Maternity Photos?
For most expecting mothers, maternity portraits are best scheduled when your belly is beautifully defined but you’re still comfortable enough to move and enjoy your session.
I generally recommend planning your maternity session for approximately 28–34 weeks, although every pregnancy is different.
If you’re expecting multiples or have circumstances that may affect your delivery timeline, scheduling a little earlier may be a better fit.
I recommend reaching out before your third trimester whenever possible so we have time to reserve your preferred date and plan your session.
