Newborn Session FAQ

t’s best to book your newborn session during your second or early third trimester to ensure availability. I only take a limited number of newborn sessions each month so I can give each family a relaxed, personalized experience.

Newborn sessions are typically scheduled within 5–10 days after birth, when babies are still very sleepy and naturally curl into those soft, timeless poses.

Since babies arrive on their own timeline, I schedule your session based on your due date and finalize once your baby arrives.

Once your baby arrives, simply send me a quick text or email. From there, we’ll confirm your official session date, typically on a Saturday or Sunday.

All newborn sessions take place in my in-home studio, designed specifically for comfort, soft lighting, and a calm environment for both baby and parents.

Your session is designed to feel relaxed and natural, not rushed. Here’s a simple flow:

• We start with family portraits outdoors (weather permitting), using a natural setting for soft, timeless images
• Then we move indoors for a black-and-white parent + baby portrait (you’ll wear all black for this)
• Finally, we focus entirely on your baby with a variety of props, wraps, and setups

Sessions can last up to 3 hours to allow time for feeding, soothing, and keeping baby comfortable.

• Family portraits: Soft, neutral tones photograph beautifully outdoors
• Parent portraits: Please bring a solid black shirt for the indoor black-and-white images
• Avoid busy patterns or logos to keep the focus on your connection and your baby

Yes! I provide a curated collection of wraps, textures, and props to create soft, natural images. You’re welcome to bring a meaningful item if you’d like it incorporated.

Newborn sessions are $650 and include:

• Up to 3 hours of session time
• A fully guided, styled experience
• Digital download of all high-resolution images
• Print release for personal use

Your remaining balance is due on the day of your session.

Absolutely. Newborn sessions are about documenting your growing family, and I encourage including parents and siblings for meaningful, connected images.

That’s completely normal. I allow plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and breaks so your baby stays comfortable. There’s no pressure—we go at your baby’s pace.

Your final gallery will be delivered within a 2 weeks after your session, ready for download and printing.
